The fires have been distracting the first week, but I'm looking forward to this next week.
It has been a little hard with the fires around the base and the kids being home. I have helped my wife with dinner and around the house a little more than before. And during the fires I let her sleep while i stayed up to make sure everything was safe for them.
Don't know if this is the right spot or what but here goes, Thanks first of all for an AWESOME retreat. I tried so hard not to go and of course thats par for being exactly what I needed.
You guys are epic!!
Anyway it all came down to ONE thing... well, one big thing and that being my need for a closer walk and that being based on my ever lacking devotional time. Ive been moaning about it forever. Luckily I have a good brother who called me on the csrpet and said put up or shup up.
Only a real BROTHER WILL DO THAT FOR YOU.
It is the base , devo time , that is mandatory for me to function on a daily basis and walk closer with my king.
The result is a better Father to the kids and a better husband to the wife. So far Im batting about 600 on making it to devo time daily but thats better by about 600 than prior to the retreat. I'm buckling down... or trying to.
Don't despise small beginnings. Thans again to all of you who were there and to all who participated.
Hey y'all,
I painted the kitchen, been helping out around the house more.
I forgot about this when we evacuated, I meant to post a while ago.
Great retreat, I'd love to do one with the whole family.

Setting aside time to do this has been harder than I thought. Life is busy and starting off this endeavour during the fires just made it a little busier. Reading James this week, I will try to make more timely blog entries. Just thinking of doing the bootcamp has made me focus more on my walk, tripped a lot about blogging and staying focused on the main reason for the bootcamp. Just loggin on to do this has helped to keep doing it.
