I give myself a “C” grade overall. Though I may have had a few moments of B+ like behavior, overall I didn’t come near to doing all the assignment asked or honoring Koreena in the way I hoped. I did do a couple impromptu lunches with Koreena during the week and stopped to listen and focus on her agenda and not mine. I really blew it on Monday night when Koreena wanted to order pizza and I mentioned how I had pizza the night before then some how strategically empowered her to make dinner at home for the whole family - stupid me (she served me instead of me serving her)! I rationalized it as one of my kids didn’t want pizza either. After it was all done I realized it was my agenda that won being completely oblivious to the priority of honoring her wants over my wants. The grade for that behavior was a “F”. Yet, even with my shortcomings in accomplishing the assignment I did find myself self correcting in pushing my own agenda a number of times and putting her first more than I normally would. I also found myself stopping and listening more than I normally do.

I only read the verse once this week, but did think about it a number of times. I prayed for Koreena three times while I was on the run, but not so much according to the list.

My priority focus is to build my companionship with Koreena by taking time to interact and listen. Our goal for this week helped that and I’m going to keep on using the guide this week in the weeks to come.

Having to report this to all you is good … even if I didn’t do it all. Looking forward to the next week.
